The year of *This Time It's Personal*, a collaboration with punk poet John Cooper Clarke, capped by a full-band UK tour together in November–December performing the whole album plus classics from both careers.

    *This Time It's Personal*, the first collaboration between Hugh and Dr John Cooper Clarke, announced for release on 14 Oct 2016: ten hand-picked covers of the classic American and British pop the pair grew up with, by writers including Leiber & Stoller, Jimmy Webb, Ricky Nelson, Ritchie Valens and Conway Twitty. Produced by Hugh, who plays all guitars, it marked Cooper Clarke's debut as a lead vocalist at 67, with no spoken word. The idea began with Hugh hearing Richard Harris's "MacArthur Park" and imagining Cooper Clarke singing it
